The Armenian Genocide Day on the Armenian Blogosphere

Armenian Breaking News speaks about the importance of Armenian Genocide recognition:

April 24, 1915 marked the beginning of the Armenian Genocide in Constantinople (present day Istanbul) with the arrest, torture and execution of 300 Armenian intellectuals, writers, poets, political and civic leaders by the Young Turk Government of the Ottoman Empire. Also on that day, 5,000 of the poorest Armenians were butchered in the streets and in their homes.
In May 1915, after mass deportations had already begun, Turkish Minister of the Interior Talaat Pasha ordered the Armenian population’s deportation into the Syrian desert.
[] Ultimately, more than half the Armenian population, 1,500,000 people, was annihilated. In this manner the Armenian people were eliminated from their homeland of several millennia.
[]
It’s time for Turks and the rest of the world to recognize the Armenian Genocide!

Armenian Blogosphere has uniformely condemned the Genocide of Armenians commited by the Young Turk Government of the Ottoman Empire 92 years ago, which is still being denied by Turkey of today. Below is a collection of links to posts by the Armenian bloggers about the Armenian Genocide written of the last 2-3 days.

  2. Yours truly seems mysteriously absent from the list. 😉

  3. Vay – sorry! I don’t know how that could have happened!!! 🙁

  4. Updated with 3 links from Armenia blog.

  5. Ahem, shall I worry that I didn’t find a link to my blog?
    Well, never mind.

  6. Just added a link to your post to Zarchka – thank you for reminding. Moreover, I had read your post with a lot of satisfaction, but with so many people posting on the Genocide Rememberence Day it is no surprise I missed some really significant posts like yours.
Everyone – is there anything else I have missed? Please please let me know!

  7. […] the Armenian Genocide Commemoration day the Armenian blogosphere (or at least the part I’m following) is not very active […]

  8. Everyone who really cares about trying to spread awareness of Darfur needs to see Attack on Darfur. I got to see it at the NY film festival this year, and wow, it was so intense. It did not hold back at and shows exactly how brutal and horrific the rapes and killings are. I really appreciated how raw and truthful it was. It won the award for best international film and so deserved it.
