Taregir electronic daily has published the intermediary results of the SMS voting organized to determine voter sympathies of potential Presidential Candidates for February 2008 Presidential Elections in Armenia. So far Levon Ter-Petrossian, the First President of the Third Republic of Armenia is winning an overwhelming (348 votes, next closest is Vazgen Manukyan with 50 and Raffi Hovhannisyan with 32 votes). The results are true for 20.06.07, 19:00, the voting is still in progress.

Even if the survey is not manipulated, the respondent sample does not correspond to the voting population. Taregir readers probably are more fond of Levon Ter-Petrosian than any other politician.
I am not bringing the results of the voting as a fact of life – I’m just saying, that the discussions have already started.
Also, knowing the political setting in Armenia I’m almost certain, that Levon Ter-Petrossian won’t run for president, neither will Vazgen Manukyan, or it will be his big mistake.
I dont know a country that votes for a President by SMS ? So i dont even understand what the porpuse of this votes been cundocted , its very Armenian ?
I understand that this is a tempting subject for Armenians (especially of younger age), as many of them envision themselves as a well-educated, experienced, mature observers capable of making judgments. While I firmly believe that such a cock-assuredness is a tribulation for our nation, I dare to ask: does it really matter who becomes the next president for the impoverished and disenfranchised Armenian people? Nearly every presidential election is being directed by a supra-national, supra-governmental forces, cumulatively called “internationalist power elites”, by means of a variety of economic suppression tools and political technologies available to them, including, but not limited to, the bought and paid for politicians in given countries. These power brokers manipulate virtually all major global events to strengthen their grasp on them and, subsequently, advance their sick dream of a “one world government” that functions, first and foremost, to the benefit of global financial corporations, not the people.
Please understand that in our world order presidents have only virtual power due to the fact that they are not essentially elected but are picked up and installed in the context and interest of a global control and manipulation of events by more powerfull forces. Be real!
