ANNUAL AWARDS TO BEST JOURNALISTS HELD IN YEREVAN

YEREVAN, July 18. /ARKA/. The Yerevan Press Club (YPC) awarded today representatives of local mass media for the best achievements in journalism from July 15, 2006 to July 17, 2007.
The awarded journalists were Aidin Morikian, author of journalism handbooks, Professor of Yerevan Valery Brusov Linguistic University, Gevorg Altunian, the anchor of the “Express” program on the TV5 channel, and Hakob Badalian, correspondent of the online magazine lragir.am.
According to YPC President Boris Navasardian, this year special attention has been paid to the coverage of domestic policy issues in connection with the parliamentary elections in the country.
He gave assurances that all the awardees always remain in the centre of the YPC’s attention and can enjoy support in their initiatives.
According to Astghik Gevorgian, Chairwoman of the Journalists Union of Armenia, the awardees contribute to the formation of national journalism, raising it to a higher level. Gevorgian believes those people should be highly appreciated for their work, as they are real specialists.
