Gagik Tsarukyan: Most Popular Person on My Blog

Looking at the statistics of my blog, and trying to analyze, what attracts people here, I have noticed, that for 3 months already the most popular search term, i.e. words, using which people are coming to my blog are: Gagik Tsarukyan, Prosperous Armenia, and Gagik Tsarukyan’s house. Since the readers are the most precious capital I have, I decided to help them find even more stuff about Gagik Tsarukyan, and here is a link to a video on YouTube, kindly provided by BeautifulMind333, showing the richest Armenian businessmen (most would prefer the term: oligarch), head of the Prosperous Armenia party Gagik Tsarukyan at his best.

The film is about the wedding of Gagik Tsarukyan’s daughter that took place last year, it shows the Oligarchs house in detail, passes on to the traditional toasts and dances, passes on to the mile long drive of limos, hammers accompanying the newly married couple to the wedding venue. In the end we have a glimpse of the party, where pop stars from Russia, Ukraine, Latvia sing live to cheer up the guests. There: enjoy! 🙂 http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=6UrE6e8J_Rw

  1. Seems you’re not the only one who is suffering from an overkill of DG with or without his daughter. I have the same…uh..problem: http://armenianodar.blogspot.com/2007/10/weddings.html

  2. The answer can be – Capitalistic dream. 🙂
Interestingly there were almost 2K viewing but no comments . who would dare 🙂
And I thought that the inside of the house would be practical. In my opinion it is based on palaces which later were converted into posh hotels or casinos because of their impracticality- e.g. hard to maintain.
    Very interesting video.

  3. I’m wondering what would happen in Armenia if such a video was to be aired on national TV???
I’m also wondering what useful function would that palace serve after the revolution, when all the property of the Fat Cats is re-nationalised and communalized? I’d say it’s not a bad spot for Abovyan University (or, even better Abovyan Communiversity). It’s not a bad spot for regional self-governance centre either … all that massive space could be very useful for large decision-making gatherings.
Or maybe it could be a museum for the old regime…
    eh? what d’you think?
    😉

  5. I think it is a very impractical building. When i saw this building first time about 5 years ago I thought that it could be a good home for elderly or even a nut house. Maybe a museum of nature. Now I see that it is so impractical to server to any possible real purpose that I changed my mind. I think it should be a museum of Capitalism. That way no public funding would be reqired it can be just let to rot and decay.
