10 songs selected for Armenia’s National Eurovision Finals

eurovision-2010 The art council of the Armenian Public TV have selected 10 songs, which will be performed in a live show on National Eurovision Final contest scheduled on February 14th, 23:00. The winning song will represent Armenia in Eurovision 2010 international music contest to be held in Oslo, Norway. The selected songs are below. I was mildly surprised not to find Artash Asatrian or Bghdo in the list. Other than that – I wish Razmik Amyan would win. What do you think?

  1. This Winter – Another Story Rock-band
  2. Apricot Stone – Eva Rivas
  3. Countdown – Nick Egibian
  4. Let Me Hear You Say – Emmi and Mihran
  5. Infected Dreams – David Ashotian
  6. Little Red Riding Hood – Maria Kizirian
  7. My Love – Razmik Amyan
  8. Never – Sonya
  9. The Mermaid Song – Ani Arzumanian
  10. We Must Believe – Melne Beglarian

  1. Since you asked “What do you think?”, here are my thoughts:

Hmmm. Are these singers and musicians representing Armenia or some other country? What were the criteria for the selection of contestants?

This Eurovision, being an international event with participants from many countries, I would have thought that it would have been a great opportunity for Armenia to select good singers who would provide the world a glimpse of authentic Armenian music, songs, compositions, language and culture. I bet other countries will be promoting their own music, language and culture.

I wish them all good luck but I am not impressed with the selections.
