Flag for Flag

Armenian flag was burnt in Istanbul’s Taksim square on Sunday, a couple of days after the Turkish flag was burnt in Yerevan. It never really bothered me,  when Dashnaktstutyun youth burnt Turkish flags during their annual march and vigil before the Genocide anniversary days. The sight of the Armenian flag burnt in Istanbul, on the other hand, was quite disturbing… I know I sound biased, but I can’t help it. Overall, this flag-burning action is plain silly.

    • The fact, that the Armenian flag is being burnt in Istanbul only highlights the growing importance of Armenia for Turkey. In the past, they just didn’t care if Armenians burned the Turkish flag, or no.
