A young crook, claiming to be a great scientist and a member of a NASA space mission, has embarrassed the hell out of high-ranking Armenian officials, using a couple of badly fabricated documents and taking advantage of the atmosphere of total ignorance in the Armenian government.
Artur Poghosyan, 20, from a village in Armenia’s Gegharkunik region, claims to have received a Ph.D in aviation and astronautics from a Russian University, received an offer from NASA to fly to space in 2016 and more.
Armenian blogs and forums had been exposing the lies of forgery of documents for about a month now. The academic community of Armenia sent out an angry letter back in February, blasting the hideous claims of the self-proclaimed genius, who says he’s “Galileo and Galileo is me.”
Despite the uproar, the young crook, who can barely speak proper Armenian or Russian and is not even educated enough to properly answer most basic questions, has been received by the Armenia’s Diaspora Minister Hranush Hakobyan, President’s Chief of Staff Karen Karapetyan and a range of other officials.
A regional correspondent for Armenian Public TV even prepared a special report about Poghosian, but apparently, the editors caught on in due time and stopped it from broadcasting. The report is available on YouTube (part 1 and part 2) and is simply hilarious if you know Armenian.
Below is a slideshow showing some of the forged documents. Enjoy.
