Bitcoin Craze Hits Yerevan

Posted on 16.03.2018 by ditord

I just saw this huge banner ad on Yerevan’s central Baghramyan avenue.

This happens at a time when Facebook and Google are banning bitcoin advertising.
More importantly, Armenian authorities recently discussed Bitcoin and cryptocurrency and issued a statement, claiming it is dangerous.
Meanwhile, the price of graphics cards, used for bitcoin mining keeps rising in Yerevan and really hurts creative professionals in the country. For one thing, I was forced to buy a 2Gb video card for my home computer instead of the 8Gb version I wanted.
